Technical Overview
The LocateIt System is a geographic information system (GIS) that provides precise geographic information for addresses, intersections, off-road points, and geopolitical boundaries. LocateIt System software features unique analysis and search algorithms that transform incomplete and partially inaccurate information into meaningful address information.
Beneath this best-in-class software is an enhanced version of TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing), the United States government's nationwide mapping system database that is overlayed by geopolitical information (e.g., state, county). Also included as an overlay is a unique combination of operations information used throughout the telecommunications industry.
LocateIt System software can be accessed through a customized application programming interface (API) via client/server architecture, as a turn-key information system on a variety of platforms, as an interactive dial-up service, or as a batch reconciliation facility.

The LocateIt System provides the opportunity for address verification and the correction of bad address data, both of which are crucial for effective customer and resource identification. Unlike other geographic information systems that may restrict their focus to specific regions of the country (e.g., large metropolitan areas), the LocateIt System covers the entire United States and Puerto Rico. This gives you access to information not otherwise readily available (e.g., the ability to track a street through multiple municipalities by address range).
Improves Reliability
The LocateIt System also introduces a means of obtaining consistent information. The system integrates scaled, land-based information on streets, highways, towns, ZIP codes® and geographic coordinate values to provide an accurate geographic cross-reference between an address and its latitude and longitude coordinates. The LocateIt System can also provide the V&H coordinates of an address.
Ensures Accuracy
The LocateIt System can also compute precise air-mile distances between any two points. This information can be critical for the intelligent pricing of services.
