Products Licensing Information

Let's take a closer look at the benefits offered by our two licensing plans. Please note that some items apply to all COMMON LANGUAGE products and related services, while others are specific to certain code sets.

Standard Licenses
Standard licensees enjoy certain benefits not available to restricted licensees, including:

  • Request privileges for development and maintenance of COMMON LANGUAGE Equipment Codes (CLEI™ Codes), COMMON LANGUAGE Facility Codes (CLFI™ Codes), COMMON LANGUAGE Message Trunk Circuit Codes (CLCI™ MSG Codes), COMMON LANGUAGE Special Service Circuit Codes (CLCI S/S Codes), COMMON LANGUAGE Network Channel and Channel Interface Codes (NC/NCI™ Codes), and COMMON LANGUAGE General Codes
  • Code-set training and limited phone consultation and field support provided by COMMON LANGUAGE Product subject-matter experts in connection with use of licensed information, related technical issues and, if necessary, negotiations with other licensees regarding code development and maintenance
  • Participation in Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and CLONES User Group meetings held to discuss the development and management of code sets, products and services, current and emerging technologies, general operational concerns, and related COMMON LANGUAGE Product requirements
  • Participation in International Advisory Board (IAB) discussions and decisions
  • Full access to the CLONES database, including ability to modify and update your own location codes
  • Access to electronic or machine-readable code-set data for use throughout your procurement, assignment, inventory and accounting systems
  • Access to COMMON LANGUAGE Address Analysis System (LocateIt® System) for distance calculations and other queries

Restricted Licenses
Restricted licensees enjoy numerous benefits, including:

  • Access to proprietary code descriptions, guidelines, tables, catalogs and dictionaries provided in paper or electronic-media formats
  • Authorized use of code-set information for the purpose of:
    • Embedding applicable codes and records throughout manual and automated systems
    • Producing derivative works for internal use
    • Transmitting COMMON LANGUAGE Product codes to telecommunications customers and common carriers in order to achieve interconnection and meet operational requirements
  • Request privileges for the development and maintenance of COMMON LANGUAGE Location Codes (CLLI™ Codes)
  • Read-only access to the Central Location Online Entry System (CLONES) database
