CLFI Bank Codes
COMMON LANGUAGE Facility Detail -- Line Interface Equipment (Bank) Codes are the standard identification for identifying the termination of a facility. These codes are part of the COMMON LANGUAGE Network Identification product line.
CLFI BANK CODE DESCRIPTION: COMMON LANGUAGE Facility Codes (CLFI Codes) provide definition and identification of a facility. When used with CLFI bank codes, they provide a complete end-to-end description of a facility.
CLFI bank codes can be found within the facility administration of the TIRKS® System and FEPS. In the F-1 module of the TIRKS System, CLFI bank codes provide a unique identification of the line-interfacing equipment. The interface equipment may consist of a plug-in circuit card, an equipment shelf/unit, or an entire frame of equipment, depending upon how a vendor implements interface functionality.
CLFI bank codes are assigned to plug-in circuit cards (e.g., DS1s, DS3s, T1, T3, OC-Ns), shelf(s)/unit(s) (e.g., add/drop multiplexers, ethernet, optical network units, terminal shelves), and/or frames by being associated with a COMMON LANGUAGE Equipment Code (CLEI Code) in the E-1 catalog.
By invoking a TIRKS System Function code to assign a facility, the CLFI bank code provides the link between the F-1 and the E-1 inventory module. CLFI bank codes normally appear within a client's facility database (F-1 module) to supplement CLFI code information.
Whenever an interface rate or signal type is part of the equipment name provided by the vendor, that rate/signal type description shall be included in the description of the CLFI bank code.
Note: These reference rates and signal types should only be those sanctioned by the CLFI code set and approved by the COMMON LANGUAGE Products Technical Advisory Group (TAG). Terms of rate and protocol specific are invalid.
CLFI BANK CODE REQUESTS: All vendor CLFI bank code requests must include product documentation. The customer must submit this documentation with a completed COMMON LANGUAGE Products LS2 form.
Request Types:- Request From TIRKS System to Match With Function Codes (Non-OSMINE Services)
- New product/product version that is not currently CLFI bank coded
- Secondary request for new interface on an existing CLFI bank-coded product. (No new product functions. Only used to add new facility interface.)
- Scheduled Request From TIRKS System to Match With OSMINE Services Work
- A new product/product version that is not currently CLFI bank coded
- Secondary request for new interface on an existing CLFI bank-coded product. (No new product functions. Only used to add new facility interface.)
Charge: 1/2 hour for each additional interface. See example above.
All OSMINE Services-related bank coding will be done by COMMON LANGUAGE Products on a scheduled basis. Scheduling between COMMON LANGUAGE Products and OSMINE Services project managers must occur at least two weeks prior to request submission.
All CLFI bank code requests received from contracts signed after March 1, 2003 will follow the new "Charge Per Bank Code" model.
Unscheduled requests and requests to match up with Function codes will be worked only as time permits. Requests submitted without vendor documentation are improper and will not be worked.
