Our many years of experience enable us to help you fine-tune the inventory-management process by ensuring that bar codes and bar code equipment (including printers, scanners, verifiers and hand-held terminals) are fully compliant with industry standards.

  • We can analyze your labels to ensure that they comply with document GR-383-CORE, "Generic Requirements for COMMON LANGUAGE Products Bar Code Labels." This analysis includes a scan profile of sample labels to determine the grade for reference decode, decodability, symbol contrast, reflectivity, minimum edge contrast, modulation and defects.

  • We can determine the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) grade level of your bar code labels in accordance with ANSI X3.182 (ANSI "Bar Code Print Quality Guideline"). This analysis includes a scan profile of sample labels to determine the grade for reference decode, decodability, symbol contrast, reflectivity, minimum edge contrast, modulation and defects.

  • We can analyze label samples for:
    • Adhesion strength, edge adhesion and delamination resistance
    • Effects of moisture
    • Abrasion resistance
    • Other environmental effects.

  • We can test your bar code equipment (including printers, scanners, verifiers and hand-held terminals) to determine:
    • Its ability to print and scan bar code labels in compliance with industry and other specifications.
    • Its ability to autodiscriminate when scanning multiple symbologies.
    • Its compliance with national (ANSI) and international (ISO) industry standards.
    • Environmental issues, including:
      • Thermal robustness
      • Fire resistance
      • Transportation and handling
      • Earthquake and office vibration
      • Airborne contaminants
      • Acoustic noise emissions
      • Electromagnetic interference (EMI)
      • Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
      • Effects of lightning and AC power fluctuations.

  • We can also design customized tests to address any unique business needs you may have.
